Awards

The Stephen M. Buschman Award

This is the highest award in the dojo and is given to the individual whose demeanor exemplifies leadership, professionalism and dedication. The award may be granted in up to three grades, though not all are awarded every year: Dan, Kyu and Junior Kyu.

The award is named in honor of Sensei Sammartino's senior student—Stephen Buschman, Sensei of Bushido Karate Academy.

Man/Woman of the Year

This award is given each year to the student or students whose attitude, dedication and conduct in the dojo represent the spirit and ideals of our Kai.

Student of the Year

This award is given to a student or students for continued commitment to excellence, determination and willingness to share.
